Nancy invited her fans to a meet & greet at the Riviera Hotel & Casino.  I didn’t take very good notes on this one so you’re just going to get a little tidbit of what I remember about what I did jot down.

Comments on her new story with Sam… "I like that it’s real."  She went on to explain that she meant that it was something that happens in real life (though I believe that she said that it wasn’t one that she would have chosen, LOL).  Nancy mentioned that she had a friend that had given up a baby for adoption a long time ago and that later in her life she had the opportunity to meet her child.  A discussion ensued about biological vs. environmental effects on raising a child.  Nancy believes that the environment in which a child is raised has a profound effect on how they turn out.

Comments on Rick…I know there has been a lot of discussion going around concerning recent magazine quotes about whether Rick is supportive or not.  Rick is VERY SUPPORTIVE of me.  He’s my buddy and my friend.  He’s also a SMART actor.  He doesn’t want to be the guy holding Alexis’s purse or kissing Sonny’s ass all the time (Oops!  Nancy told a little girl in the audience that an ass is a donkey.  LOL.)  He has feelings like a woman but the ego of a man.  I can’t blame him, in his position I would fight for my own story too.

Comments on Becky…very similar to what she said about Becky on SoapTalk…that they are friends and she’s like a mother hen, reminding her where she left her scripts and such.

Q:  about Robert LaSardo (Manny) -  He’s really very sweet and he’s led such an interesting life.  I wish one of the magazines would do a big write-up on him because he’s really so fascinating once you get him out of his shell, and he’s so articulate.

Comments on Sam…Nancy talked about how small Kelly is and how she feels like she's towering over her, then she went on to mention that she felt like that with a lot of the actors.  She also told us that they had just filmed a scene last week where she and Sam get stuck somewhere and Sam starts in with her usual stuff and Alexis finally just has enough and tells her that she's old enough to be her mother so show her some damn respect!  LOL.

Someone made a comment about Sam crying all the time and Nancy complimented her on the ability and said that she could do it so easily that she called her “Little Sally Saucer” (and you’ll have to forgive me that I didn’t get that reference and I had to look it up, so for those of you that don’t know that particular nursery rhyme, here ya go…

“Little Sally Walker”

Little Sally Walker, sitting in a saucer

Weeping and a-moaning like a turtledove.

Rise, Sally, rise, wipe your weeping eyes

Fly to the east, fly to the west

Fly to the one you love the best.

Q:  Who is Sam’s father? I don’t know and I don’t think the writers know yet.  A few names were tossed out by Nancy and other audience members including Tom Eplin.  She talked a little bit about it being a Cassidine and wondered if they would actually go there.  She said that would be interesting because she didn’t think that had been done.

Q:  Any scenes with Helena coming up?  Not yet.  She talked about the scene in the hospital elevator when Helena held a knife to her throat and how she wondered why she couldn’t just get away from her.  She said that Tyler and Rick were just standing there doing nothing and Tyler said “we can’t take her?”  LOL.

Q:  How do you play a storyline you don’t believe in?  Oh, I think you can tell when I don’t believe in it.  She gave an example but I don’t remember that one.  Someone who does will have to help me out! But I know that she ended it with “You have to pick and choose your battles.” LOL.

Q:  How did you like hosting SoapTalk?  I loved it.  To get paid to talk?  LOL.  It’s really easy as long as you do your homework.  They give you some general questions but if you follow the interview along, the questions just come.  Nancy also commented that she did a cute mock walk-through of the GH actors dressing rooms which didn’t air due to the infamous “brokeback” promo (among the dressing room spoofs she mentioned, stilettos in Tyler’s dressing room, a shrine to Sonny in Steve’s dressing room, and a pic of Steve on the back of Mo’s door).  She said she would try to show a clip of it at her event in July.

Q:  Will you have any scenes with Rick Springfield?  I don’t know.  He’s such a quiet guy and he has such depth.  He’s very real and he has no ego.  Nancy told us about how he taught her how to sign T-shirts.

Q:  about her sister going on the makeover show on Style with Finola Hughes?  Nothing against Finola at all but I hate the premise behind that whole show and I was very angry with the way it went.  It was very different than I thought it would be.  I thought, hey, a free trip for my sister and a makeover but they did everything they could to get the scoop and make her cry and it was just a big mistake.  I would never do that again.

Q:  about sweeps?  There were comments from the audience that despite the fact that they lost the recent sweeps (the epidemic) that they enjoyed the cast integration a lot.  Nancy commented that she thought we would be seeing more of that, that Jill has been more hands on recently with trying to put more of a woman’s point of view into the story and MORE romance.

Q:  about her Emmy tape?  I really didn’t think I should submit.  I really didn’t have anything that they wrote that stood out as obvious Emmy material.  Nancy reviewed the tapes for lead actor and said that NOTHING compares to Tony’s

Nancy then went around the room and signed autographs and took pictures with all of us while her daughter Kate announced the raffles.  My luck is still holding!  I won 2 autographed magazines, a mouse pad, 2 4x6 photographs and a silent auction for a tin from ABC casino night which included a bracelet and a deck of cards.

Nancy told Kate to tell us about Kali (nu-Kristina).  “She taunts me” Kate said.  She told us a little story about how she wanted to sit on the couch with her mother and Kali wanted to sit on the couch with her TV mother.  “She taunts me”.

Nancy also told us a story about Kali in the Kelly’s scenes from last week.  Kali wanted to add a line to her dialogue.  She was supposed to say something like she had missed her mother and she told them that she wanted to add something about how she liked her food first but they wouldn’t let her.  Nancy said that Kali then pointed at her and said, “but she does it!”  LOL.

I admit it.  This was the first time I've trekked across the country to see an actress (as opposed to those hunky guys) and it was incredible.  What a wonderful time.  Nancy joined us in the food court after the event and moved around to different tables while she was eating a late lunch and just chatted, then she spent part of the evening walking the casino floor and chatting some more while some of us gambled away our life savings!  LOL.  (not me, of course!)
