You'll have to forgive me for playing tourist while in Vegas. It's been about 10 years since I'd been there and a lot had changed. I couldn't resist popping a few pictures of some of the sites while I was there including the New York, New York section of the strip.

View of the MGM Grand from the New York, New York. What a whirlwind trip this was. I was undecided on whether to take this trip or not at first because the notice was so last minute but when I saw the list of the stars appearing at this premiere, I couldn't resist. I've never had the opportunity to see Tony Geary and at the moment Patrika is the only one scheduled to appear at the Dallas premiere for which I won tickets.

Monte Carlo.
I arrived on Saturday afternoon and met up with Sue and we decided to hoof it to the Strip and check things out.

Paris.
I enjoyed the different city recreations and themes in the casinos. It made for very interesting architecture.

|
Bellagio
We had to stop and wait to see the Water Fountain Show at the Bellagio. We watched the beautiful water show set to All That Jazz from Chicago.

I'm having visions of George Clooney...

The Mirage.
So we booked it down the strip on Saturday afternoon then stopped at Harley Davidson's for drinks before going back to the hotel to rest up for the big show on Saturday.

View of the Hard Rock Cafe in the parking lot from our room in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The elevator rides up to the room were quite an experience at all times of the day. We enjoyed dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe on Sunday night after the premiere.

We arrived to the theater a little early, not quite sure what to expect. Apparently we got there before the people running the show so we sat in the nice weather and watched everything get set up as well as visited with the other attendees as they showed up for the premiere. A cameraman and reporter showed up and asked for interviews with a few of us. They were especially interested in Sue since she came all the way from Massachusetts. We did before and after the show interviews and they also interviewed Sue after she went through the pic & autograph line. Our pre-screening interviews are up at the Carpool Guy website - Pre-Show interviews - I believe that most of the attendees were from the Las Vegas area with a few that had driven in from California. Sue & I appeared to be the only ones that flew in. They set up a red carpet just inside the theater and just before the stars were scheduled to arrive we walked down the red carpet and into the theater to get ready.

Corbin Bernsen and his mother, Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor, Y&R)
Sue & I were the first in line for the picture session so we missed the actual walk down the red carpet but I tried to snap a few pictures as they came around the corner into the photograph area. Some of them were a little quick for me.

While the ladies gathered together for photos, Corbin wandered off in search of the guys. They were taking their sweet time down the carpet I guess, since I couldn't see down there. He came back with Tony Geary not too far behind.

|
|
Tony sped up a little too fast after he rounded the corner and I missed him as he ducked behind Corbin to get in the photo area with the ladies. I missed Rick totally after he rounded the corner, so you'll just have to enjoy him in the group shots.

|
The group of actors got together for some groups shots and I grabbed as many as I could from my spot in the line. We had a few workers with cameras in front of us so I was trying to dodge them and snap like crazy.

Group shot of the actors in attendance from left to right:
Corbin Bernsen, Jeanne Cooper, Patrika Darbo, Lauralee Bell, Rick Hearst & Anthony Geary

After the group photo sessions they divided them up into 2 groups of 3 on either side of the poster display and we got to take an individual photo with each group. I'm going to leave room below to insert my photos with the groups. The photos were taken by the workers at the event and will be available at the Carpool Guy website later.

I'm going to be impatient while waiting to see how my pictures turned out, but I'll just have to suffer looking at these while I wait.

After our photos with the groups we were able to wait in line again and get autographs. They have the DVD available at the premieres as well as a few other items of Carpool Guy memorabilia. I brought the Carpool Guy movie poster that I received at GH FCW with me, and I had everyone else that hadn't signed it already do so. It's starting to look pretty full. Now I just have to get some more to come to the Dallas premiere! Where are you Sean???

Jeanne, Corbin & Patrika - Doesn't Corbin look like a proud papa?
|
|
|
Tony & Rick...sigh...I finally met Tony and I'm losing track of how many times I've seen Rick now. What happened to Lauralee?
|
|
|
Sue & I managed to grab a couple of pics with Rick while the others were doing autographs. We talked to him about our trip to Las Vegas, where we were staying and how much we were enjoying ourselves and other things. Since it was a small group it was nice to talk with Rick and not be rushed because there's a million people behind you!
I'm so glad we made this trip. I encourage you, I mean STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU, that if you get the chance to go to one of these premieres, GO! The movie was funny and I cannot say enough how wonderful it was to see all of these guys on the big screen. I'm used to seeing them on my TV screen and I gotta tell ya, they look damn good on the big screen!!!
